How about some refreshment on a hot summer day? The Freibad Hinterstoder outdoor pool is only about a ten-minute walk away from the ALPRIMA Aparthotel. From the end of May to the beginning of September, little and grown-up water lovers can splash about and enjoy the cool water. In the children’s pool, even the youngest ones can take a dip. Sounds enticing? It gets even better: With the Pyhrn-Priel AktivCard, admission is free! That way, your next family holiday will be even more fun!
In Vorderstoder, the Schmidi-Teich pond – picturesquely embedded in a pristine natural setting – waits for young anglers. River trouts, rainbow trouts, pikes, zanders, basses and lots of other types of fish move about in the crystal-clear water. That doesn’t just make grown-up anglers rejoice. Every child can catch their own fish at the Schmidi-Teich pond. Fun with a fishing rod guaranteed! After a successful catch, there’s a number of comfortable seating possibilities where you can enjoy some peaceful moments together.
Listen up, adventurers and explorers: From the middle of March to the middle of October, you’ll have the chance to take a guided tour through the chalk cave in Vorderstoder. Equipped with sturdy shoes, warm clothes and a torch, you’ll enter the gloomy cave. Inside, Gottfried Ramsebner tells you spooky tales and lores about the Pyhrn-Priel region. It’s an experience that captivates children and adults alike.
Have you ever heard of a fairytale rubbing walk? No? Then, let’s go! Grab a fairytale rubbing booklet at the tourism office in Hinterstoder along with some special chalk and go on a journey of exploration! Nine stations guide you through the most beautiful spots of the Stodertal valley. At each stop, you’ll find a fairytale picture board with a captivating story and a rubbing station. What you need to do now is transfer the motive on the brass plate onto a page of your booklet with the help of the special chalk – by rubbing it over the area. Now it should be clear what the name is aiming at … Additionally, you’re asked to solve a quiz. If you get the answers to all six questions right, you’ll receive the cuddly plush gnome Stoderix for free at the tourism office. Awesome, right?
The nighttime hike to the Schafferteich pond in Vorderstoder is an experience in nature of the exceptional kind. The leisurely hike takes about an hour and leads you to the picturesque pond. And to ensure that the path through the forest is sufficiently lit, every child gets to carry a lantern. That’s incredibly fun – especially for younger children!
On holiday with the itty-bitty ones? That doesn’t mean you can’t go on amazing hikes out in the crisp mountain air. In Hinterstoder, there’s a number of trails that are suitable for buggies:

Up the climbing tower and the bridge and back down through the big tube slide … The public village playground offers enough space to play, climb and romp around and is only four minutes away from the ALPRIMA Aparthotel on foot. And while the little ones are busy swinging or sliding, the older ones can play different ball games on the Fun-Court. Everyone’s going to find something fun to do!
At both ski resorts in the Hinterstoder area, little and grown-up snow bunnies feel right at home. There are wide and easy slopes for children both in Hinterstoder-Höss and on the Wurzeralm. But the absolute highlight is the Sunny Kids Park. That’s where the little ones can practice their first few turns on skis. Thanks to a magic carpet, ski merry-go-round and a professional ski school, today’s mini skiers can quickly turn into tomorrow’s pros! Meanwhile Mum and Dad get to swoosh down the slopes, knowing their kids are in the best of hands!
Tip: If you don’t want to buy ski equipment for your little ones, you may rent it at the shops and sports stores!
Dashing through the snow and down the mountain – a toboggan ride is tons of fun for everyone! You can walk or take the toboggan taxi up to the Landhotel Gressenbauer and then ride back down into the valley along a distance of 1.2 kilometres. The natural toboggan run in Hinterstoder is floodlit in the evenings as well. Just let us know at the reception and the team of the ALPRIMA Aparthotel will be happy to organize a toboggan and taxi for you! All you have to do is wrap up your family in warm clothes and nothing can stop you from having an incredible toboggan experience!
Covered in warm blankets, you can ride through the wintry landscape – always accompanied by the sound of the snow crunching underneath the sleigh and the horses’ hooves. A horse-drawn sleigh ride isn’t just something for love birds but makes children’s hearts beat faster too.
